ABOUT THE CLUB

OUR STORY

Mountainbike Tauranga (MTBTGA) was founded in 2007 by a group of passionate local riders with a simple mission — build great trails and grow mountain biking in the Tauranga region. We became an incorporated society in 2008 and haven't looked back since.

Today, we support and help maintain some of the region's best riding, including Oropi Grove MTB Park and Summerhill Recreational Farm Trails. We're proud members of the New Zealand Mountain Bike Association and hold the distinction of being New Zealand's first IMBA-affiliated club.

Over the years, we've grown from a small trail-building crew into a thriving club that runs events, youth development programmes, skills clinics, and regular organised rides across Tauranga and beyond.

Join Us - Whether you're a seasoned shredder or just getting started, there's a place for you here. Membership is open to individuals and families, and comes with access to a great community of riders, organised rides, discounted event entry, and deals at local bike shops.
